Makoto Takemiya, Co-Founder & CEO of GBBC member Soramitsu, will present on Soramitsu’s Project Bakong, their joint collaboration with the central bank of Cambodia to create a blockchain-based integrated payment system that incorporates digital identity, payments, and digital assets for the general populous.
Soramitsu leveraged the Hyperledger Iroha framework, which it helped create, alongside its mobile applications to create a retail payment system for Cambodia. The innovative payment system is enabling Cambodia’s largely unbanked population to gain access to the broader financial system.
