The State of Web3

Founded in June 2021, USBC is the only national organization with a multi-state focused approach, leveraging hyperlocal relationships in 46 states to seek consistent policies at the state level through alignment on public policy and legislative priorities. Led by representatives from Texas, Washington, California, Florida, Wyoming, Virginia, Alabama, and Pennsylvania, the USBC highlights and catalogs use cases, provides accessible education to policymakers, builds relationships with regulatory bodies and agencies, and proactively seeks new partnerships with industry, government, academia, entrepreneurs and investors to meaningfully grow the sector across the country.

Leveraging the strength of collective advocacy and deep-rooted relationships across 46 states, USBC effectively dismantles fragmentation and silos, paving the way for consistent state-level policies through alignment on public policy and legislative priorities.

Recognizing the pivotal role that state-level organizations and legislators play in defining the regulatory and adoption landscape, GBBC and USBC will collaborate to amplify their collective influence across the U.S. Under GBBC's guidance, USBC will leverage the expertise and insights of GBBC's 500+ institutional member community and gain access to GBBC's comprehensive collection of educational resources. In turn, USBC's extensive grassroots network will bolster GBBC's relationships and advocacy initiatives across the U.S.

USBC has a proven track record of delivering valuable outputs to its members and the broader Web3 community. USBC hosts an annual Multistate Policy Conference, providing a platform for discussing policy priorities, sharing best practices, and addressing challenges agency coordination and advocacy. Additionally, USBC has released a comprehensive "State of Web3" report offering in-depth state-by-state analysis of Web3 activity, along with maintaining a use case catalog to educate lawmakers and legislators.

Global Blockchain Business Council (GBBC) is the largest leading industry association for the blockchain technology and digital assets community. Launched in Davos in 2017, GBBC is a Swiss-based non-profit, with more than 500 institutional members, and 231 Ambassadors across 109 jurisdictions and disciplines. The organization is dedicated to furthering adoption of blockchain technology by convening regulators, business leaders, and global changemakers to foster collaboration and advance dialogue to create more secure, equitable, and functional societies.  

GBBC Digital Finance (GDF) is the UK-based, global financial services division of GBBC. GDF focuses on the adoption of best practices for cryptoassets and digital finance technologies through the development of conduct standards in a shared engagement forum with market participants, policymakers, and regulators. 

InterWork Alliance (IWA), an initiative of GBBC, empowers organizations to adopt and use token-powered services in their day-to-day operations, across use cases and networks, bringing inclusivity to globally distributed applications. 

BITA Standards Council (BITA) is GBBC’s global transportation and commerce initiative. GBBC’s BITA initiative consists of global companies with a shared vision to leverage blockchain technology to define and grow open-source supply chain standards. 

U.S. Blockchain Coalition, an initiative of GBBC and coalition of state blockchain associations, is led by representatives from Texas, Washington, California, Florida, Wyoming, Virginia, Alabama, and Pennsylvania to support local community building efforts and provide education resources and policy best practices at the state level.
