Based in Perth, Australia, Power Ledger uses blockchain technology to facilitate electricity and environmental commodity trading. They develop software that allows electricity consumers and producers to track, trace and trade every kind of kilowatt.
Sandra Ro, host of our Enterprise Blockchain Innovation Series and CEO of the Global Blockchain Business Council (GBBC), will sit down with Dr. Green to discuss the current power grid and how this software can leverage its use through a hybrid P2P exchange. The software enables consumers to become producers, selling their excess into the system, and in turn, allowing consumers needing more power to buy extra kilowatts at lower rates than those offered by the power company.
This is a fascinating and practical disruption of a system where public utilities are often natural monopolies, that works with these utilities in a novel and sustainable way. This is also an early example of innovative uses of blockchain technology.
Please join us in this unique live and interactive conversation with Jemma and Sandra as part of our ongoing blockchain series of Town Halls with GBBC.
We will take questions via Q & A text and voice call-in from the attendees.
We encourage you to submit questions prior to the event to [email protected].
