GBBC Virtual Members’ Forum with Charles Winnsboro

Join us on the next GBBC Virtual Members’ Forum with the Charles Winnsboro Group Founder & CEO Jude Chidi Ogene for a presentation on “Leveraging Blockchain to Upskill Africa’s Working Professionals.”
Charles Winnsboro has partnered with two universities, Southern University’s Law Center in Louisiana and Campbellsville University in Kentucky, to provide career-focused opportunities to working professionals in Nigeria and other countries in sub-Saharan Africa. These courses issue certificates that reside on a blockchain, so that prospective employers are assured of the legitimacy of the students’ qualifications. The objective is to facilitate remote work opportunities for these professionals, where they can be paid in crypto or foreign currency.
This initiative aligns with several of the UN’s SDGs, including: Goal 4 (Quality Education); Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth); and Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure).
Jude Chidi Ogene Bio:
Jude Chidi Ogene is the CEO of Charles Winnsboro Corporation, an advisory firm focused on infrastructure development in sub-Saharan Africa. The company’s main areas of expertise are higher education, workforce development, and capital markets. Jude also serves as senior counsel at Sterlington, PLLC, a virtual law firm specializing in high-end transactional and litigation work.
Before forming Charles Winnsboro, Jude served in senior legal and business roles with a higher education management company. He joined the company as its first General Counsel and spearheaded over $300 million in follow-on investments by private equity firms. Prior to going in-house, Jude practiced corporate law with law firms in New York and Washington DC. He began his legal career with Sullivan & Cromwell after graduating from Georgetown University with a combined JD/MBA. Jude also has a LL.B. from the University of Nigeria.
Jude is passionate about workforce development and lifelong learning. He has a green belt certificate in lean six sigma and a certificate in blockchain strategy from Oxford University. His particular interest is in exploring how blockchain and other emerging technologies such as AI can democratize access to quality education, healthcare, and financial services.
