Today, Global Blockchain Business Council (GBBC) is hosting its 5th Annual Blockchain Central UNGA in New York City, convening changemakers across industry, government, technology, and academia to drive discussions on the importance of utilizing technology as a tool towards achieving the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

As part of Global Goals Week, GBBC would like to introduce the first feature of the Global Standards Mapping Initiative (GSMI) 3.0 Fact Card Series. The Fact Card Series highlights the scope of the blockchain landscape to help educate and establish partnerships to drive the technology forward.

The Green Economy addresses the crucial need for socially inclusive, low carbon, and resource efficient economic growth. Blockchain brings transparency and credibility to the growing marketplaces for carbon offsets, addressing the global imperative to take urgent climate action across industries.

GBBC’s Global Standards Mapping Initiative (GSMI) 3.0 has introduced The Green Economy Fact Card to highlight not only how the crypto industry is embracing renewable energy and cutting-edge technology to remain carbon neutral, but also how partnerships across corporations and organizations can work to embrace Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices and reduce their carbon footprint.
