Half-Day Session on Blockchain Technology and Digital Assets

The Global Blockchain Business Council (GBBC) and the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) are co-hosting a first-of-its-kind event which will bring together regulators, industry leaders, government officials from the federal, state, and local level, and legal experts to discuss the state of blockchain technology and the digital asset industry in the United States.

This private half-day session will be hosted by Representative Darren Soto, Co-Chair of the Congressional Blockchain Caucus, who will deliver opening remarks along with Sandra Ro, CEO of the Global Blockchain Business Council and Nathan Trail, Sr. Manager at the Consumer Technology Association.

The half-day session will include a discussion of global policy principles and challenges led by GBBC’s Legal and Regulatory Group Co-Chair, Alan Cohn, Partner, Steptoe & Johnson LLP. As well as, presentations by federal, state, and city lawmakers highlighting recent blockchain initiatives and legislation.

The half-day session will conclude with a roundtable to discuss the challenges facing the blockchain ecosystem, key regulatory principles, and and how lawmakers, regulators, and industry leaders can work together to chart a path forward for smarter and more thoughtful adoption of blockchain technology in the U.S.
